ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Nguyễn Thị Hòa's "Peaceful Day" masterfully captures a profound sense of serenity and introspective beauty through the luxurious medium of lacquer. The composition is elegantly balanced, featuring a graceful woman reclining on a deep blue sofa, her gaze contemplative. The subtle presence of a black cat and lush botanical elements further enhances the tranquil domestic scene. A vibrant palette of warm oranges and reds from her attire and the striking foreground flowers beautifully contrasts with the cool, subdued blues of the sofa and background. The intricate use of silver leaf, characteristic of Vietnamese lacquer art, imbues the work with a shimmering depth, celebrating feminine grace and the quiet, cherished moments of daily life.
