ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Nguyễn Thị Hòa’s "Self-Portrait 2" is a profound exploration of introspection and individuality. The direct composition and the subject’s serene yet contemplative gaze invite viewers into a space of reflection. The artwork is distinguished by its vibrant yet refined use of color: a striking, checkered scarf, with its bold, contrasting blocks of hues, creates a powerful focal point that harmonizes beautifully with the subtle, delicate skin tones. The ethereal, multi-hued background further accentuates the subject’s captivating presence. The loose, decisive brushstrokes not only demonstrate skillful technique but also fully convey the artist’s spirit of freedom and intense creative energy.
