Nguyễn Thị Hòa
(1957 – )Nguyễn Thị Hòa is an artist trained at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, having completed a five-year intermediate program prior to her undergraduate studies (1977–1982). She works primarily with lacquer, exploring familiar subjects such as portraits, landscapes, women, children, and still lifes. Her paintings feature solid forms and meticulously handled colors, with a restrained use of gold, silver, and eggshell white. In her portraiture, she tends to flatten forms, capturing subjects in private, tranquil, and highly symbolic states of interiority.
