ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In "Three Holy Mothers," Phan Cam Thuong recreates three goddess figures using a visual language that is both solemn and rich in folk elements. The figures are linked together in a fluid flow of movement through flowing robes, continuous curves, and interwoven shades of blue, purple, and golden-brown. Dragon, leaf, and cloud motifs not only decorate the surface but also create a sacred rhythm, evoking the atmosphere of Mother Goddess worship and the world of traditional symbolism.

The faces of the Holy Mothers are simplified, with their eyes closed or slightly bowed, making the work less narrative and more contemplative. On the dó paper, the subtle colors and graceful lines make the figures appear as both ceremonial and intimately connected to folk cultural memories. The work thus represents a meeting of religious symbolism, feminine beauty, and decorative rhythm within a poetic structure.
