ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In his work, "The Sanctity Between Earth and Man," Nguyen Thanh Son organizes the space as a ceremonial arena, where humans, the community, and the sacred world coexist. The central figure, dressed in brocade, is surrounded by dark figures with bright red eyes and mouths, creating a sense of both protection and questioning. Below, large arms, tilted faces, and animal figures connect the human body to the earth, memory, and indigenous beliefs. The strong contrast between red, black, and white, along with the rhythmic repetition of eyes, mouths, and patterns, draws the viewer into a haunting space, blurring the lines between reality and myth. Through this, the work reveals the depth of Central Highlands culture as a sacred relationship between humans and community, nature, and the invisible forces surrounding life.
