In the work "Homeland," artist Huyen Lam utilizes traditional lacquer painting with an abstract, evocative visual language. Areas of crimson red, deep black, and gold leaf are organized into a solid composition, combined with organic, soft lines reminiscent of calligraphy. The contrast between the smooth, glossy lacquer surface and the rough background creates visual depth, while also evoking traces of time, land, and memory. Instead of depicting a specific location, "Homeland" aims to evoke a sense of origin as a spiritual space.
