ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"A Breath, a Dream" by Truong Cong Tung is a series of exquisite works that opens up a space for profound contemplation on the nature of existence. Using lacquer, pastels, and paint on paper, the talented artist skillfully combines traditional and contemporary techniques, creating a subdued color palette, primarily reddish-browns and sepia, evoking a sense of time. Fragmented compositions against a white wall, each small work is like a visual diary entry, inviting viewers to explore each detail. The lines in the paintings are ethereal, sometimes softly sketching natural forms, other times boldly reflecting biological or geographical research. The gentle light enhances the subtlety in each dot and blend of materials. The works evoke a sense of the fragility of life, of memory and dreams, blending organic beauty with philosophical depth about the relationship between humanity and the universe.
