ABOUT THE VENUE
Quang San Art Museum (QSAM) is the first private art museum in Ho Chi Minh City, housing over 1,600 artworks spanning from the Indochina period to the present, each bearing deep cultural and historical significance. The museum aims to cultivate an open and evolving space where art is preserved, experienced, and shared within and beyond the local community. Its mission is rooted in the belief that art is more than cultural heritage; it is a bridge that connects people across time, space, and generations. QSAM also develops community-centered programs through collaborations with contemporary artists, co-creative projects, public talks, and art education initiatives.
INSTITUTIONAL THESIS
The institutional thesis of Quang San Art Museum is built upon the concept of "Layers of Contemplation", drawing inspiration from the very structure of a painting—where canvas, frame, and gesture form a unified whole. The museum is driven by the vision of creating a vibrant cultural space that not only showcases valuable works but also hosts a variety of educational initiatives, preserving and promoting cultural heritage while inspiring a new generation of art enthusiasts. At the heart of its approach is dialogue, collaborating with artists, curators, researchers, and cultural institutions to foster independent thinking and meaningful exchanges between tradition and modernity. The name "Quang San" translates to "bright mountain," evoking both memory and aspiration.
