In his works from the Hung Kings era to the Ho Chi Minh era, Le Ba Dang does not recount history in a chronological order, but rather condenses the length of the nation's culture into a symbolic landscape. Against a backdrop of reddish-brown, earthy yellow, and dark black oil paints, images of mountains, birds, symbols resembling ancient writing, diagrams, and characters emerge, then fade and then follow one another like layers of sediment in memory.

The composition is organized by overlapping shapes, unevenly distributed lines and clusters of symbols, giving the painting's surface the appearance of both an archaeological stratigraphy and a spiritual map. The golden light spreading through the dark areas creates the feeling that history does not stand still in the past but silently shines in the present.

From the Hung Kings era to the Ho Chi Minh era, the work evokes a continuous flow of national consciousness: from the legendary origins of history, culture, and community to the aspiration for independence and self-reliance. Using a semi-abstract language rich in symbolism, Le Ba Dang transforms history into a space where viewers can recognize the continuity between ancestral memory and the spirit of the new era.
