In "The Earth," Le Ba Dang condenses the image of the world into a spherical mass that resembles both a planet and a geological surface preserved through time. The shifting patches of gray, black, and metallic hues, along with circular marks, carvings, and raised depressions, create the feeling of an Earth that has undergone many impacts, transformations, and accumulated memories.

The sphere is not depicted according to familiar geographical maps but is organized as a symbolic space. The surface layers simultaneously evoke continents, orbits, cells, and traces of life. A small red dot appears as a visual signal amidst the cool color palette, suggesting the fragile yet enduring presence of humanity.

Through the language of relief carving and the contrast between the enclosed sphere and its ever-changing surface, the work opens up contemplation of the Earth as a shared dwelling place, yet an entity carrying within it history, trauma, and the capacity for regeneration.
