ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Women's Confessions," a renowned work by Le Thi Luu, is a silent song about the subtle inner world. This silk painting, using ink and pigments, shines through a gentle color palette, with pastel shades of blue and crimson blending with a somber yellow-brown background. The close-up composition focuses on two graceful faces leaning towards each other, creating a private space filled with shared feelings. The soft, diffused light caresses each delicate, fluid line, characteristic of silk painting art. Through the half-closed eyes and pensive gaze, the work evokes the depth of unspoken thoughts and emotions. Le Thi Luu skillfully uses silk painting techniques to convey the fragile beauty, sensitivity, and hidden charm of Vietnamese women, a style that has become her signature. During the Contemporary Art Morning Session at Christie's Hong Kong, November 24, 2019. Auction price: HK$2,500,000 (approximately VND 7.5 billion).
