Chung sống trên Thiên đường

In *Living Together in Paradise*, Nguyen Manh Hung depicts a tall and narrow apartment complex, with rooms, balconies, and extensions crammed into a seemingly overloaded structure. Lighted windows, clothes drying, awnings, iron cages, and household items make the building appear as a miniature community, where private life constantly spills over into shared space.

Placing the dilapidated structure amidst white clouds and a blue sky, the artist creates a paradox that is both humorous and bitter: “paradise” is not a perfect realm detached from reality, but rather a place where people still have to crowd together, expand, and find ways to live together. The work stems from Nguyen Manh Hung's experience growing up in a Hanoi apartment complex, while expanding into reflections on urbanization, the lack of privacy, and the adaptability of the community.

Through architectural models crafted from everyday materials, the work not only recreates a type of housing but also shows how people transform deprived spaces into dwellings, memories, and hopes. "Paradise" here is therefore both a dream and a question about living conditions and the meaning of coexistence.
