ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In "Royal Lady 5", Bùi Hữu Hùng masterfully crafts a profound world where traditional beauty intertwines with contemporary allegory. The artwork shines through the exquisite lacquer technique, presenting muted tones as a backdrop for brilliant gold leaf accents and intense crimson. The central figure, a woman in traditional attire, emanates a serene yet profound aura, simultaneously dignified and introspective. The opulent golden birdcage, holding a vibrant blue bird, transcends mere decorative detail, becoming a potent symbol of constraint and an unspoken yearning for liberty. This piece elevates Vietnamese heritage through an artistic language that is both classical and strikingly modern.
