ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In Nude, Bach Hoang Anh places a naked female body in a dark red interior space, where the light-colored skin stands out against patches of brown, pink, black, and yellow. The relaxed sitting posture, the downcast gaze, and the soft, blurred brushstrokes prevent the image from focusing solely on the sensuality of the body, instead opening up a quiet, private, and slightly unsettled inner state. The work can therefore be read as a psychological nude, where the body becomes the focal point of desire, memory, and self-isolation.
