ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Dinh Cuong's work "Where Are We Going?" is a poignant song about existence, expressed through profound abstract language. The dominant color palette consists of vibrant yet cracked blue, mysterious dark black, and somber gray-brown, creating a balanced composition of energy and stillness. The broad, expansive lines and thick patches of color, especially the cracked effect against the blue background, evoke a sense of time, erosion, and the scars of memory. At the center of the painting is a pristine white square, like a gateway or a profound question about the beginning and end of an uncertain journey. The masterful oil painting technique allows the artist to create depth and emotion. Light does not come from an external source but emanates from within the work, particularly from the white square, as a beacon of hope or enlightenment. The work invites viewers to contemplate life and the eternal question, "Where are we going?"
