ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In *Ephemeral Appearance*, Bui Tien Tuan uses pale blue hues and the thin, translucent layers of color characteristic of silk to create a female figure that is both present and seemingly dissolving into the painting's background. The white fabric is lifted to form a luminous frame, highlighting the body's curves while simultaneously imbuing the image with a sense of fragility and detachment. The restrained lines and shades present the viewer with an ephemeral beauty, thereby prompting reflection on the body, time, and the transience of existence.
